Was George S. Raptis at Ceylon Inn a mag?
I've tried many Indian places in Brisbane, trying to find a stylish place reminiscent of the wonderful and sadly gone Scheherazade. Ceylon Inn is not that perfect place but its close enough. Breads are good. Curries ok for me. Good variety. Limited alcohol (hint: BYO), tea and coffee choices. Limited deserts. But a very reasonable local curry. Easy parking. Ambience. Recommend. What User dislikes about Ceylon Inn:
Firstly stuffed up our booking, had to sit outside in the cold. Waited ten minutes for a waiter to take our drink order then waited another ten minutes for the drinks to arrive. This is when we should have got up and left, however stayed on! Upon placing our food order waited over one hour for meals to arrive. This restaurant is extremely popular with locals. We've been here a number of times and have had good experiences; food has been tasty! Request a seat away from doors/windows on cold nights as they are often left open. If we're back in the area we'll be sure to come again.
This is where we get out weekly takeout from. Delicious butterchikcen and garlic and cheese naan. We ate in last week and throughly enjoyed the coconut fish dish. The staff are always friendly and the decorations give the place an air of authenticity. If you're looking for consistently delicious Indian on the west side of Brisbane you cannot go past Ceylon Inn.
This is an Indian Lankan place. Food quality and taste is average. The place has a nice ambience with all the cane furniture around. Service was quite decent.

As soon as we walked in, the staff were so friendly and happy which was nice. They checked up on us throughout the night and made sure we were having a good meal. The curries we ordered were pretty good as well as the pakoras and overall was a nice Indian meal. The decoration of the restoration is so lovely as well and would be an even better atmosphere when the place is busy!
