Great authentic Jamaican food! The two brothers that own it are very friendly and make some awesome food! Quick and easy stop for a nice bite. Jerk chicken wrap and jerk chicken wings are bomb! View all feedback.
What 490serinal doesn't like about Penthouse Restaurant Cafe Bar:
We previously liked staying in this place, so it's the 3rd time we're staying here, for 8 days 7 night. Yet it's turning south. The management just want to take your money, doesn't take care of the rooms. The toilet was never working right, had to call help everyday. Took in a few days of late season hiking. The location is great with trails a few steps away from the building. Our room was well appointed and maintained with a beautiful view of the mountain. When booking, we asked for a view and got a great view high up in the building of the slopes. We had easy walks at night into town. We are looking forward to our ski trip out here in March!
Here is the bad: 1] we stayed in #1013. When you book they don’t give you the unit number you are actually going to be staying in. That isn’t assigned until days before you get there. This was supposed to be a “premium unit” but the furniture was cheap and mismatched, the TV in the family room was mounted so high on the wall that it hurt your neck to watch it for very long, the appliances were the cheapest I’ve ever seen, and the sink in the 2nd bathroom leaked (when we checked in there was a bucket and towel underneath it, so they knew about this before we got there). 2] our unit was described as a “forest view”. It was on the ground floor and the view was of a couple of bushes and the back of a neighboring condo building. 3] it was described as “ski in/ski out”. It was about a 200 yard walk to the nearest lift. 4] another surprise was that parking (self serve) is $50 per night! 5] no barbecue grill anywhere near the unit. Here is the good: 1] there was plenty of hot water for showers, etc. 2] the beds were comfortable. All in all it was disappointing. Also, if you plan on using the facilities to cook, beware that they strip the place of every possible condiment. If you want to cook you need to buy everything yourself. That includes salt, pepper, sugar, flour, baking soda, etc. EVERYTHING. I won’t book a place like this through some management company again. I want to be able to deal directly with the OWNER of the property, not some disinterested employee of an absent management company.
This place is below 1 star. The rooms are not decorated, probably didn’t have any work within past 10 years. The management is very unfriendly. We got to the hotel at 5 pm, the room was not even ready, the parking lot was not available and the management was so unfriendly. Finally after parking on the other part of town, we got to the room. The place was very old style. The carpets very dirty. The bathtub didn’t work. We ask management for change which never happened. My recommendations stay away from this property or book directly from the owner like airbnb so you can get unit you want and you don’t need to deal with the management of this property.
The Villages at Breckenridge was extremely underwhelming. As epic pass holders, I would never suggest or return to this property again. The biggest issue we had was no hot water for showers the entire trip. We were unable to shower our whole trip! We called maintenance after skiing all day about the shower. We were told it would be fixed when we returned from dinner that night. It was not. The next morning we tried to shower and again no warm water. It was ice cold. I wish this was all the problems that we had but let’s start from the first night. To begin, the room we got was not what we booked on the phone. It was extremely outdated and old with carpets in the bathroom, yuck. our phone was broken. It’s an ancient wall phone that fell off every time you walk by, because there’s like Barely any space to walk. When I asked the engineer, while he was trying to fix our shower, he told me that I had to call the front desk to get connected to housekeeping whom never answered the phone or returned messages. We called the first night to request extra towels and throughout our whole 3 day stay, no one ever answered the phone or returned our messages. Since we couldn’t take showers, we had to use towels to wash ourselves. The staff seemed extremely amateur and offered no solutions, sympathies or alternatives for us. The door under the sink was broken and hanging off when we got into the room. I also found a tiny screw on the floor. Which was very scary considering we had a 1.5yr old with us, who puts everything in his mouth. In addition, the dresser in the room is extremely tall and the drawers fly out when you open them. They are very heavy and my son nearly dropped one on himself. It was a completely safety hazard for us. The morning of check out, we asked for an extended check out due to all the issues and they told us firmly NO. Then she tried to tell us that we could shower at the pool area. After 3 days, when we’re checking out, you tell us there’s showers there. Iv stayed at camp sites with better amenities and hospitality. They also would not let us extend our parking at the property. She told us there was $0.50 parking across the street, which was also not true and totally packed by 8:30am. She offered us a $40 refund for the “inconveniences” which we paid for in parking. We felt the staff were not equipped with the right tools to manage this property. The Most helpful person was the valet guy. I hope that Epic will look into this property and hospitality practices further but we will definitely never stay here again.

Then with half the buildings vacant, they downgraded us to a room next to the trash room with no internet, and the draft was so bad, had to wear a jacket inside. Was told that was the Gm, so they do not care about hospitality, or customer satisfaction, just to take your money. Don't book or stay there
