The Woolpack
4.4 / 5 (966 reviews)

Description

The Woolpack is a historic building with a disappointing atmosphere and inconsistent pricing, leading to a negative experience for guests looking to enjoy a meal or drink. Although the establishment offers takeout services with fantastic kebabs and burgers, the dining experience in-house was subpar due to unseasoned vegetables and tough meat dishes. The staff, while accommodating to some, have been reported to make insensitive comments to disabled patrons. Despite some positive feedback regarding the decor and beverages, overall, the Woolpack seems to have room for improvement in terms of food quality and customer service.

We ate here for Sunday lunch and the food was lovely. The portions were very generous and it was a lovely surprise that children under 10 ate for free! Everything we ate was very nice and the service was good.

Had really mixed reviews of the Woolpack. First time I went the food was excellent (although the dog that lives there did pee on my jacket)… I then returned in summer with my family and had the most indescribably horrible kebab of my life. There are some odd people that go this pub a lot and there seems to be rife drug use

Popped into this lovely village pub on Saturday. Great beers on tap, really nice atmosphere and will definitely be coming back.

Stayed at The Woolpack visiting family nearby. The room was lovely and really can’t fault the staff, Kaylee (sorry if that’s spelt wrong was lovely. Thank you to Lee the chef for the lovely food and for going out in the pouring rain to look for my lost father in law, and to Martin for the most beautiful pub garden I’ve ever seen. But mostly thank you to Walter for being the pub puppy (whom I love! . We will definitely be back soon. Looking forward to sitting in the garden without the rain.
