Sancho's Gunbarrel Mexican - Boulder

That was the first time and definitely the last four safe. One of the worse experiences I had when eating in a restaurant. Food was very bland and definitely reheated and dry. I have my family there for dinner at Taco Tuesday, we have there a few minutes after 7:00 when it had ended and the people at the front tab were nice enough to let us get the Taco Tuesday deal I have no complaints about the fact that it was really nice of them. When our food came out, it looked quite honestly mediocre for the amount of spent. They apply a red chili sauce, a green chili sauce and a mol sauce for their enchiladas. With this said red chili tasted like mole and we asked for the green sauce, since obviously in Sancho's mole and red chili sauce is the same grease thing, the thing that our experience was badly made that what I think was one of the chefs or manager of the branch came out to tell with my wife how he has no time to tell his sauces and so on. I mean, obviously he had no sense of hospitality at all to get out and raise his voice at PAYING costumes. It was pathetic and it is sad that so many people love this place that is honestly not half as good as it was a few years ago when they were in Boulder and obviously under BETTER management.

I have had their carne asada street tacos a few times (nothing else yet), and they are delicious. Service is great.

Prices are fair, but the food was extremely dry. the tacos were ok / decent, salsa was very spicy but got a chicken enchilada, rice and the flan was even super dry / bland no taste.

If I could give 20 stars, I would! I am crazy about the authenticity of Sancho?s. The street style tacos are so delicious and the tortillas and chips are freshly made. The tamales are so good, too! I love coming on a Friday evening to grab a margarita and queso while the live music is playing. I take my out-of-towners here all the time and they love it.

I ordered the birria tacos, and they were generously loaded with meat! They were very tasty, especially with the consomé. The restaurant has a self-serve salsa bar and drink station, and all the sauces were excellent. The owner was incredibly friendly and genuinely attentive; he took orders, cleared tables, and greeted everyone. The service was great, and the food was delicious. I'll definitely return!
