Food and staff were great. I am sure it is much louder when they are open fully. They were great about cleaning, separation of tables and making sure people were not bunched together as they need to during current covid restrictions. Dinner was great oysters, chowder and lobster BLT’s and menu had something for everyone. Looking forward to going back and enjoying dinner when things are back to “normal” View all feedback.

I was looking for a nice old-fashioned Irish Pub. Most of the food that we ordered was very good especially the whiskey chicken wings the shepherd's pie was phenomenal it must be one of the best Shepherd's pies I ever had. And of course they had my beer on tap which is Smithwick I truly enjoyed my two visits to the Black Rose and will definitely return on any future trips to Boston View all feedback.
Really cool place with great drinks. The Shepard's Pie ordered and it was probably the best I ever had. They made a series of fun drinks and then got a local music band on stage. All stood and heard from the sides. It was great! I can't wait to go back.
I was here for the first time today, but this pub impressed me positively. Light friendly atmosphere with some noise that is common for pubs. A really delicious Irish Ale. All dishes were served quickly and we enjoyed our meal. A live music is perfect with a nice musician. I wish I would go back to Boston and visit the pub again. Thanks for your hard work!
Holy fecking heck was this place amazing. We hit Boston one afternoon for aimless wandering and around lunch time and decided to try an interesting place. I'm always down for a good Irish pub, so we decided to give The Black Rose a try. Oh. My. Gawd. Did not disappoint. We sat outside on the sidewalk since it was a gorgeous day. Our server was absolutely amazing. She checked with the bartender to see if they'd make an Irish Coffee with cold brew (yessssssss) and was super nice. We ordered a Ruben, bangers and mash, and a burger with caramelized onions. Every single bite was a freaking food orgasm. The bangers and mash was something dreams are made of. Do not pass this place by.
The Black Rose is a Boston institution and a great place to visit for locals and tourists alike. I'm ashamed to admit that despite my 15+ years of living in the Boston area, that this was my first time visiting. The good and drinks are fantastic, though, and this place lives up to the hype. There's a reason why this pub has been around for so long. The atmosphere is noisy, so if you're looking for a quiet place to eat, this isn't your scene. The sausage rolls were good, but compared to the Irish Spring roll, they paled in comparison. The Irish Chicken was well-seasoned and moist, and the bangers and mash were delightful.
Went here for lunch with the family. Daughter had fish n chips. She said it was to die for. Girlfriend had cob salad and said it was delicious. I had a bowl of clam chowder. The chowder was thick and flavorful. There was a hint of bacon flavor. Overall an easy 5 star review!!
