Living in France I miss good old fish and chips, but when I have this in the UK nowadays. ... I feel bloated afterwards. This simple restaurant is the perfect compromise. The quality and freshness of the fish is superb and delicate. The batter tasty yet lighter and the chips ....perfectly cooked. Even the mushy peas and tartare sauce seem to be home made. I had a single portion of fish which was more than enough, but... View all feedback.

Visited this restaurant based on the positive reviews and hoping for something "British". The setting is nice, the shop clean and the smell encouraging but the food was frankly very disappointing. The batter is OK, the fish was largely grey and soggy and the chips were not great, - the potatoes were unpeeled, a no-no in the UK. The mushy peas were quite the worst I've ever tasted and nothing like UK mushy peas. The t... View all feedback.
Decent Fish and Chips overallThe Fish part I liked a lot, the chips were pretty standard as was the sauce.
Yes Mum! Is not a fish & chips restaurant like all the others: the fish comes from the Arcachon bay, it's super fresh and tasty and not some frozen stuff
We just had fish and chips here with a beer and wine and we enjoyed it very much. Good service. Great food.

If you want a French impression of a British F&C shop this is OK but in reality they wouldn't last last 5 minutes in the UK.
Living near Pau where there are no British style eateriesI was excited to read the reviews of 'best fish and chips ever' and was looking forward to this. Huge disappointment. Probably the worst fish and chips I've ever tasted. The potatoes weren't even peeled for the chips and the were made withnew potatoes. Of the 2 small bits of fish only one was even edible, the other piece was just grey all the way through. The so called mushy peas were actually mashed up garden peas with something added and truly disgusting. The chaps behind the counter were very nice. The glass of rose was light and refreshing and the setting in the square in the sunshine was lovely. Such a shame the food was so awful.
