We eat regularly at a buffet style restaurant in the area that we live. There are several operating in the way and we use what we think is the best. There was a reasonably wide selection of food. Just one rice dish though. Not a great salad variety, but there was a good seafood selection, even offering large crab claws. The wok area, where you took your choice of raw meat or fish and vegetables to be cooked, was as normal and a good selection of meats. However, there was no choice of sauces in which to have it cooked. There was a wide selection of desserts, but it was almost all tinned fruit or ready made cakes. The only fruit that appeared to be fresh was some pineapple, watermelon and oranges. There were Haribo style sweets for the children as well as ice cream. The restaurant was bright, but very noisy, despite the fact that it wasn't full. Acoustically, this wasn't the place for a quiet meal! It appeared clean, but I noticed one of the staff wiping down tables with a sponge that he kept hanging in his apron pocket. He went from one table to another without freshening the cloth. The food area was tidy, but there were chipped plates in use. Chopsticks were available. The cost at €19.80 per person for a mid week evening meal I think is high. We pay €4 less per person in Villeneuve-sur-Lot for a better overall meal and experience. Having said that, overheads might be more expensive in Bordeaux, even though it was a large site on the outskirts. Given the choice in the area, I would go somewhere else next time.
Me and my partner were visiting Bordeaux for the first time and wandered all over. We came across this restaurant after crossing one of the bridges and it seemed to be surrounded by a mix of industrial and residential area. The place was around three quarters full on a Saturday evening, I think we were the only tourists at the time. A young waiter welcomed us and took us to our table. Luckily my partner speaks French as none of the staff seemed to speak English. We chose a bottle of wine which turned out to be pretty decent. Most of the buffet food was exactly as you would expect in any mid-range buffet restaurant. The plus for me was a small selection of sushi and I have to give credit to the lady that cooked my wok, she knew what she was doing! Absolutely fantastic job she did with my squid and my partner's curious concoction, she alone pushed our rating above average rating. We paid €55 for two, including the bottle of wine. So good value.
Second trip here and it is the best buffet Chinese I’ve been to in France. Beats many around the world too.
So me and a friend were in the area and decided to check it out. I love Asian food and figured why not. Bit of a disappointment though, as the the only had a large buffet and very small grill selection. I'm not a fan of buffets at all.. Usually the food is not warm enough and you never know how long it has been laying there. But generally they also have a large assortment of raw food you can get them to cook in a wok or grill.. However not here. The buffet food was indeed not hot at all, it was already cold by the time you arrived at your seat with your plate. The grill was good, but simply too small a selection too choose from. The sushi, was unsurprisingly a very thin piece of salmon on a massive ball of rice. The place was clean though and the hosts were friendly. However for what you get, €19.80 is unfortunately plain and simple put on the expensive side.
