We had been walking around Borba quite a bit under a scorching sun and we were feeling a bit desperate when we found this small restaurant, possibly 200 meters... read more We had been walking around Borba quite a bit under a scorching sun and we were feeling a bit desperate when we found this small restaurant, possibly 200 meters ! from where we parked our car in the big square in front of the Iglesia Matriz. We were treated like family members, people very curious about our whereabouts we are Italians . Nice outside setting, with big umbrellas providing plenty of badly needed shadow. Very good, authentic portuguese food, a towering bitoque, and so many sardines grilled live across the street by someone who obviously did not mind having his fingers toasted for someone else 's lunch. Fantastic salad. All in all there was plenty to eat for the four of us and still the check was very moderate.
