Stick Boy Kitchen - Boone
Stick Boy Kitchen
Description
Beloved local bakery-café known for exceptional pastries, breads and breakfast fare, with standout almond croissants, sticky buns and savory sandwiches. Friendly, efficient staff keep bustling morning lines moving; indoor and sunny outdoor seating plus convenient front parking add appeal for families, hikers and takeout. While most customers praise the clean space and attentive service, some report cold or delayed takeout, an overpriced specialty coffee lineup and occasional under-seasoned prepared items. Overall a welcoming, high-quality spot for pastries and breakfast, best enjoyed in person when busy hours are expected.

We discovered this little gem before heading to the hiking trails. The bagel sandwich was delicious; we each had one and savored every bite. It's a busy spot, with the indoor seating area quite full and a long line. However, the staff did an excellent job managing the flow of customers, so the wait wasn’t too long. They were also very friendly. We found some outdoor seating to enjoy the morning sun. We would definitely return!

My daughter and I stopped into Stick Boy Kitchen on a snowy December morning for a bite to eat, and it did not disappoint! We tried a sticky bun and a chocolate croissant, as well as fried egg sandwiches with ham, bacon, and cheese on bagels. Everything was absolutely delicious. The cheddar everything bagel made my ham, gouda, and fried egg sandwich exceptional—just the right combination of flavors. The sticky bun was perfectly sticky and sweet, and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her chocolate croissant. While the food was fantastic, the service was a bit confusing when we first arrived. Being from out of town, we weren’t familiar with the setup. We initially sat down but quickly realized we needed to grab menus ourselves from a sandwich board. After that, things improved—especially thanks to a kind young gentleman who took our order and ensured everything went smoothly. The cozy holiday atmosphere was a nice touch, with college students decorating the space with coffee filter stars, adding a festive and quirky charm. Despite a slightly rocky start, everyone was friendly and helpful, and the quality of the food made it a wonderful experience overall. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! The flavors, cozy vibe, and unique charm of Stick Boy Kitchen make it worth a visit. Just make sure you grab a menu when you walk in! Kid-friendliness: There were several kids there while we were there and I'm including the college students.:
