A must-visit! It's quite busy, so it's a good idea to plan ahead. The portions are generous, and there’s a fantastic selection of craft beers. When sitting at the bar, couples don't have to wait long for service. The atmosphere is great—we had an amazing day in Boone! View all feedback.
What Den Giberson dislikes about Macado's:
My spouse's burger was delicious and served hot, but the fries were cold. We had to request silverware, and there was a long wait for our food, even though mine didn’t need much cooking. My sandwich was underwhelming, and the fruit salad didn't stand out either. The atmosphere was lively and cheerful, with people of all ages enjoying drinks and having a good time. If the service had been better, I might have been abl... View all feedback.
Our waitress was super great. Best manners, polite, experienced, and friendly. She had to leave before we finished the meal, but thanks to both our servers. Macado's is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a great meal. Awesome menu choices.
We arrived around 3 PM, right between lunch and dinner, and the place was quite empty. The host seated us on the patio, which is great for people-watching if that's your thing. After about 15 minutes, our server, Samuel, finally made it to our table. I suspect he took so long because he was busy helping Motley Crue unload their gear next door. He had long, greasy hair that was all over the place and a dirty sleeveless t-shirt with the sleeves cut off. Both of these are health code violations—great job by management, as we enjoyed the view of his bare chest through the gaping armholes. And that was just the start of our disappointing service. It took another 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We were a party of six, and guess what? He brought us only three straws. After an excruciating 40 minutes waiting for our food, we noticed a four-top next to us sit down and leave after 15 minutes because no one attended to them. Eventually, our food arrives, but Samuel forgets to bring any silverware or napkins. We asked for both, plus some ketchup, and he returned with just three napkins and four forks for six people. After waiting another 5-6 minutes for him to come back with more, I finally took matters into my own hands and went inside to ask the bartender. She was too preoccupied having a rant session with two other servers to notice me. Once they dispersed, I asked her for additional silverware and napkins, but she told me she didn't have enough. Then, she went back to attending to her one and only customer at the bar. I ended up grabbing a handful of cocktail napkins and returned to the table to eat my food. The food was decent, but the service? Not so much. When we left, I tried to talk to the host to see if there was a manager on duty, but she just stared at me and then answered a phone call. Overall, it was a pretty terrible experience. I can't imagine what went wrong behind the scenes, but wow. It'll be a while before we come back.
The service was lacking, especially considering we were the only customers there for a while. Additionally, the bathrooms lack changing stations, which isn't very family-friendly. The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the delicious cinnamon rolls. Unfortunately, it has declined significantly from what it was just a few years ago. Kid-friendliness: No changing stations in the bathrooms.
My husband and I truly enjoy dining at this restaurant. We've been visiting for over 30 years and love how they've managed to preserve the same atmosphere from our college days, even after the renovations. Mike Bosse has consistently been an outstanding manager and has invested a lot into this establishment. Today, we had the pleasure of meeting Austin and Ben, who provided exceptional service! The restaurant was impeccably clean. We savored the Jamaican Jerk Wings and Thai Chili with hot sauce and fries. Despite having more tables to manage, Ben handled everything flawlessly. Enjoy the photos! We can’t wait to return soon!
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The service was top-notch, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we didn't have to wait long for our table. The food was delicious, and the enticing scent of cinnamon buns in the air was a lovely surprise. We treated ourselves to dessert, and the cinnamon buns were absolutely worth it—they were incredible! I don't understand the low ratings some have given. This is definitely a fantastic place to stop by for lunch.
