The sushi was excellent. We're not big raw fish eaters, although I don't mind raw salmon, and will have seared tuna as long as it isn't too rare. However since coming to Australia we're happy to see that cooked tuna is used in sushi here, and it tastes great. If I'm not mistaken, this one was actually tuna mayo as it was lovely and creamy. What Candida Yundt dislikes about Zakura:
large small Japanese restaurant at the main square in bondi junction. the pfanne fried knödel for the starter, followed by the katsu curry. both dishes were delicious, although I felt that the salat on the side of the curry was somewhat unnecessary and would have been better replaced by rice. service was great and overall a pleasant experience. We have returned back home in Hong Kong after spending last week in Sydney and Brisbane. We had an awesome time with family, and we enjoyed the beautiful Aussie winter weather of blue skies and sunshine a lovely respite from the muggy heat in HK. We could also show Zak the many stars, planets and galaxies that sparkles in the clear sky, something that we couldn't do in Tokyo and Hong Kong due to light pollution, high rises and particularly in HK smoggy haze. One of the reasons we were in Sydney was to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday. It was the first time in almost two years since the whole clan got together, but it wasn't without the dramas of having 5 siblings and the parents in one place, except now we also have partners and kids in the picture. We ate a lot of delicious food, and there is nothing like having a meal together as a whole family to smooth out those temporary agro feelings. My family, including the partners and kids. Yes, our group really did take up half the res

Popular place for lunch. Must try their Nabeyaki Udon and Tempura Sashimi. Yum. A bit pricy but quality matches the price.<br/ <br/ Bottomline ; Great food. Good service. Fair value.

Good value for money. I have been here a few times and find that it's a Japanese restaurant that's good value if you go at lunch as they have specials. Some dishes can be a hit and miss like the vegetable croquette which is overpriced and tiny. Flavour wise their teriyaki salmon and chicken are good along with their chicken karage bento. My salmon and avocado don had slivers of salmon. I wish they were more generous with the salmon sashimi pieces. I remember when we had sashimi dish last time, the portions were stingy.<br/ <br/ Not much dessert options but icecream. But they do have Asahi beer!
