I had a chicken fried steak and it was excellent. I loved that they served the white gravy in a side bowl. The restaurant was very clean with a quiet atmosphere. The service was great, with a five out of five rating. It was a dine-in lunch and the price per person was between $10 and $20. What Kenneth Ray doesn't like about Bennigan's:
I ordered a sandwich and soup. The sandwich was decent, but the soup was too watery. I may consider coming back for a second visit, but not in the near future. It was not the best option in town. They didn't have the menu item I wanted. what I ordered was then cold when it came to the table. the other meal had an item not available, but they forget to bring the replacement until they asked. Not impressed, will probably not disturb us to go back.
I am still disappointed that the restaurant has closed in amarillo. I love the variety of choices, appetizers, entrees, drinks. several unique and delicious options that are nowhere else available. we'll come every time we're in town.
I've been here for a few years. this is just a bland submissive place they probably need to have several drinks to really enjoy the meal. the waiting staff was never great. it is not a terrible place, but I honestly cannot come, offer all redeeming qualities to help them. And don't let them go when they see the local city and state fees applied to their bill. it will be there. so 14 dollar burger 18 will control and drink.
Eating was okay. our waitress was very attentive and cared for us. restaurant and toilets were clean. the food came out quickly and was prepared as ordered.
The food and service at this Bennigan's has always been great. Its also funny we've been several times and different servers, but they set us in the same booth, and we don't ask.
