Fantastic food you wouldn't expect in this kind of bar.

This place is amazing. Small changing menu, so check online for updates, but the food was fantastic. Very unassuming roadside dive bar with gourmet quality food. Surrounding area is gorgeous. Cash only as well FYI

I ate there a month ago with my sister and brother-in-law. It 's an upscale pseudo rural dive bar, I guess.See the pictures. The food was ok. I had chicken with a white bean sauce, which was ok, a bit bland. Maybe I was expecting too much. You paid for the California priced food (with a credit card) before you were seated. The bar was quite busy, the restaurant also, but there were tables. No wine list, you bought the wine over the counter at the bar. I thought the female bar tender was rather abrupt telling me no credit cards . I didn 't see any sign. A different waitress brought the food with less than the usual perfunctory niceties. When I flagged her down to ask about salt and pepper (I know, no water, no salt and pepper at most restaurants now) she said It 's by the cash register ; in other words, get it your self . I wasn 't paying for the meal, but if I had been, an insulting penny tip would have been appropriate. And, of course, you have to wonder if any cash business pays their share of fees, taxes, unemployment insurance, etc.
