Smokehouse Barbecue Kansas City, Mo (zona Rosa)

If you like dry and bland BBQ, this is the place for you. I got burnt ends and brisket. The cheese corn and mac cheese were bland as well. Best thing at this restaurant is the homemade ranch. This restaurant could use some more seasoning on everything. Our server was great, but the food was not.

Been going here for years. Always swing by from the airport on my way in. Sadly, it's really gone downhill. Ribs were over cooked and dry. Brisket was dry, hardly any smoke ring, bland flavor. And the pulled pork had no flavor at all, bland stringy meat product. Beans we're still pretty darn good, but not as good as they used to be. Pickles were great so that's something. The whole meal was just off. I try not to be too critical these days, I know it's hard to staff a restaurant. But this is bbq, you just can't mess up on the meat. Not in KC..there are too many other amazing options.

Yum! Highly recommend. Was traveling through town and spotted this restaurant near my hotel. BBQ sounded good and they did not disappoint.

Was there on Father's Day but alone lots of big parties celebrating. The hostess told me I would need to wait but the manager happened by and kindly directed me to a seat. (I was on a sabbatical for a week of thinking and regrouping but I did not THINK about it being a big deal to go to a BBQ place on Father's Day in KC my mistake but it worked out well). Food was delicious and my young waiter (wish I could remember his name for recognition) was kind and quick to serve. Had plenty for the next day's lunch. YUM!

Franklin was our server, he was awesome! The order consisted of Prime Rib w Beef and Combo Platter. The atmosphere was awesome and upscale. LOVED THE FOOD ! Foodgasm
