Timberlake's And Headwaters Pub
Timberlake's And Headwaters Pub
Description
Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Blowing Rock, this restaurant offers a charming ambiance, yet diners' experiences reveal a mix of hits and misses. While generous portions and a lovely atmosphere are hallmarks, service inconsistencies and food quality issues have garnered criticism. Patrons reported long waits for meals, overcooked and poorly seasoned dishes, and an uncomfortable dining environment exacerbated by noise from nearby guests. On a brighter note, some visitors highlighted excellent service from attentive staff members, making the experience worthwhile. Overall, while the restaurant's potential is evident, improvement in consistency and attention to detail is essential.

The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, the drinks are carefully crafted. A beautiful and cozy spot for enjoying cocktails during the winter months.
I was almost inclined to give this restaurant four stars due to a bit of attitude from the chef; however, the rest of the staff was so fantastic that I couldn't lower my rating. Our server, Bryson (I hope I spelled that correctly), was one of the best I've ever encountered. He was incredibly patient with our group and very helpful, handling requests to split the bill and make modifications with ease. The event staff was also very accommodating when we made reservations for our large party. The chef’s attitude came into play when I received a hamburger patty that was heavily over-salted, and when I pointed it out, he insisted there was no salt. I could clearly see the salt on the patty and even tried scraping it off before admitting defeat and asking for a replacement. We did try breakfast as well, which had a diner-style vibe. Overall, the service was outstanding, while the food was just okay.
I was a bit disappointed with my experience. I made a reservation for an early dinner last Tuesday, but they ran out of three main menu items: Trout, Rabbit, and Snapper. It’s surprising to be out of such staple dishes in the late afternoon or early evening, especially since they weren’t busy and I can’t attribute it to high customer volume. The DLT was tasty, and the scallops were good as well, though they weren't served hot. On the positive side, we dined outdoors, and the property and views were beautiful!
The hotel is beautiful, we come here every time we're in the area, unfortunately today was a disaster... Everything took a long time to get to the table and they sent us uncooked chicken strips (it was completely pink and alive! At the entrance I noticed that their sanitation grade was 91... And that made me question the food quality, of course our sweet waitress took the food back and apologized, another team member came and apologized as well, they made a new dish and gave us a free dessert and 15% off but after spending 170$ on 4 people I would expect more...
