Avanti's - Bloomington
Avanti's
Description
Avanti's, a beloved staple in the twin cities, offers a unique ordering system where customers place their orders at the counter and retrieve their drinks themselves. While many patrons cherish the restaurant's famous gondolas and pizza offerings, recent reviews highlight inconsistent food quality and service changes that have marred the experience. Some diners reminisce about the old days of attentive service, now replaced by a more streamlined approach. Despite this, fans remain loyal, drawn by the delicious food and reasonable prices. For many, Avanti's remains a cherished culinary destination, though adjustments are needed for a more satisfying visit.

Avanti's has been a beloved spot in the Twin Cities for decades. Many former ISU students have fond memories of it. The food was fairly good and offered at a great price. Unfortunately, since the founder passed away, the quality of the food hasn’t improved, yet the prices have risen. With the higher costs, they should be offering better quality meat and cheese.
I love the cheese balls, gondolas, and especially the cheesecakes—the Reese's cheesecake is definitely my favorite! They also have the best ranch dressing in central Illinois, hands down.
The team at Avantis was a pleasure to work with. Both the owner and the planner were actively involved in the wedding, ensuring that we had an amazing experience. They even came a day early to set up, with the venue’s approval, and arrived early on the day of the wedding. The food was outstanding, and they went above and beyond to make sure every detail was just right. We collaborated with Martha, who was clear and direct in her communication. She assessed the amount of food perfectly and demonstrated a high level of professionalism throughout the process. I would absolutely choose to work with Avantis again!
I ordered a pizza topped with sausage, bacon, and garlic, but unfortunately, the sausage had a spoiled taste. I've had the same pizza at a company luncheon before, and it was delicious then. I'm really worried I might end up feeling ill.
