We came to Village India several time before the pandemic, then could not come to NZ for almost 3 years. We’re back and after arriving from the US today—of course we went to Village India! This was the worst butter chicken we've ever tried. It was way too sweet and reminded us more of chicken in tomato sauce rather than anything authentic. Our meals took over an hour to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Additionally, the bathrooms were dirty. We had dinner, and the price per person was NZ$30–40. View all feedback.

The exterior of the restaurant may be misleading, but the atmosphere inside is fantastic. The service was a bit slow, but the staff were excellent and very helpful. The food was absolutely amazing! I had the lamb bhuna, while my partner enjoyed the chicken korma. The naan bread was also wonderfully prepared.
The best Indian I have ever had. Fantastic food, great value and the portions are very generous. Chicken korma is the best going around and is always a highlight of my trip down here for work. The owner and his team provide great service and are always happy to have a chat which is fantastic. Highly recommend.
