Riverlands Roadhouse Truck Stop

The receptionist Rachel screams and yells like a child at guests, she screamed at someone to slow down in their car, she screamed at another couple who had followed the instructions for after hours check in and seemingly had done so correctly, they say they aren 't registered with work and income but they are, charge some people cheaper weekly rates and other people have to pay nightly rates. Lots of 'permanent ' set ups but hardly see any people, very quiet and clean.

Perfect place to park up for the 10 hour break, clean loos amazing showers. Helpful staff.. menu looks great too... one day we will have time to try that Edit... have since tried food and omg there eggs are to die for cooked perfect and the sides are great too. Service: 5

I came here after recommendation from the toll truck driver after I got into an campervan accident, and the campervan ended up at the riverland stockyard. I was alone and in need to organise transport and a place to stay while still in shock. Even the people having lunch who were angels offered me their food and even their home. I declined as I feel bad to bother anyone. I relied on my phone to be in contact with rental company, insurance and getting accommodations sorted. That day there was barely anyone dinning in just people take away, ordered a pie to eat so at least do my bit as a customer. I moved myself to a corner so I won't be a hassle to the cafe and basically 90% of the time it was only me sitting at the table, also I need a charging port as my phone is getting low in battery, but very promptly the serving staff told me off as they said this is not an internet cafe, is a truck stop. So I apologized and took off my charger, hoping the remaining battery was enough to sort out everything. Eventually 2, 3 hrs in still no one's sitting at the restaurant, I was rudely asked how long am I staying, and I explained my situation, not only they showed no sympathy and offered no help, they just said I can't stay here forever with a big grin. I heard laughter after she went to the kitchen. I felt very dejected about this whole experience after that round of treatment when I tried to be nothing but polite and nice to the staff. I really hope it was just a bad day from the serving staff, we just need a bit more kindness and understanding in this already ever chaotic world.

The best priced steak n bacon pie I've found so far. Also very nice n filling.
