Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this restaurant.

Despite having closed their restaurant recently, the Golden Panda are (thank goodness) still dishing out delciousness to the hungry people of Blarney and beyond... read more Despite having closed their restaurant recently, the Golden Panda are (thank goodness) still dishing out delciousness to the hungry people of Blarney and beyond. They are always happy to take an order, even at last minute (i.e. technically fifteen minutes but sometimes even ten minutes before closing time) and are equally prepared to accommodate requests to modify the dishes in some way-a far cry from the nearby Tung Sing who will not take even the smallest of orders after 10.30pm sharp and for whom a side of half rice and half chips is considered too much of a challenge. In the countless times I have gotten takeout here these past couple of years, I cannot remember them ever getting the order wrong-again, unlike the Tung Sing who once served me a special chow mein WITHOUT the special (i.e. without the omelette on top). Staff are polite and efficient and most are perfectly friendly. I hate to repeat myself but this is more than I say for some of the waitress working at the Tung Sing whose attitude problem is extremely offputting. The dishes are not the cheapest but the portions are large and always delicious (see below for my recommendations). They have also udergone extensive renovation work so pop in to take a look next time instead of having them deliver!
