21 Doon is attached to the Smart Stayzzz Blackwater. The wine list is limited but had an offering to suit me. My meal was lovely Camembert stuffed chicken with delicious fresh vegetables. It was fairly busy for a week night so recommended booking. Well done!.
What User doesn't like about 21 Doon:
i think this is an almost there place for dinner. I know they want to do well, but if you order medium rare and get medium well it is a bad sign. The pasta and the salads were overdressed and the flavours were not nice. View all feedback.
The restaurant and bar is on the smaller side, but offers a basic menu that is reasonably priced and presented excellently. The staff are well trained and efficient, leading to quick delivery of meals. We were surprised to find that the in-room menu offered different options compared to the restaurant menu. We had already made our choices from the in-room menu, only to realize that those options were not available in the restaurant.
My wife and I were excited when we found this restaurant a few months ago. However, I can no longer recommend it. It was embarrassing when we took our friends from England there and the food was terrible. The steaks and calamari were overcooked and the calamari was inedible. When I spoke to the staff, they said there was a new chef who may still be learning. Our friends had raw seafood in their pasta and ended up getting sick and vomiting. We were very disappointed with our experience. 0/10.
Nice restaurant with very helpful friendly staff the meals were very high quality and quickly served, this restaurant had a good vibe.
It was great to find this little gem here in Blackwater, that after all is a mining town. The menu they offer is comparable to a restaurant found in Brisbane, and the quality of meal I received is even better than some of the restaurants that I have visited in Brisbane. The wait staff are always fre I they were able to accommodate my dietary requirements, I can recommend the brownie on there menu as it is absolutely delish.
This is a coal town through and through and finding such a quality restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent and the price reflected that. The service was enthusiastically confused. For example one waitress tried to take our entrée plates before we had been served and two other waiters both asked for our drinks orders. To be honest I would rather be over-asked than ignored. We had a great night and a short walk back to our hotel. What more could you ask for?
