We booked Sunday lunch for 12 people and from the booking through to pre order, arriving and finally paying it was really good excellent Sunday dinner and staff were brilliant especially as we were a bit loud Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Roast Beef View all feedback.

There is not much choice for multiple allergies. Waitress was somewhat 'off ' when asked for beer to be changed due to funny taste. Piri piri burger meal husband had was smaller than a child 's portion View all feedback.

Really great pub, lovely restaurant. Decor is lovely since renovation, completely transformed. Food was lovely! Just would say it would be great if they had more vegan options, as there is only one. *updated edit* June 2024 there are now plenty of wonderful vegan and veggie items on the menu! :
17 of us came here for a family meal to celebrate a 21st birthday yesterday. The food was amazing! A proper roast dinner that actually tasted like it had all been made from scratch. The meat was beautiful! The service was fab, even though there was quite a few of us to accommodate. The meals all came out very quickly, all together and were nice and hot. Nothing was too much of a problem for the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The birthday girl even received a card from the axe and square. Would definitely recommend!
Lovely staff and very tasty food, made my birthday tea that little extra special.
