Beautiful looking Georgian house from outside. sad, there is the excitement finished. bad greeting, as we have stayed in the opening lobby. then we waited for a drink order for at least minutes. in which the service was unorganized throughout the evening. we did not feel that the interior was going with the style of the own. eating was a tasting menu and there were some nicely presented dishes. However, the season seemed to be a general problem. at the end wait too long for the bill.
A few weeks ago I turned around and as if I had not already been depressed about the reach of my first quarter century, the birthday gods decided to bless me with two booking exams on my birthday. it would have been the worst birthday if my nice friend hadn't booked us a table in the simpsons x sticky Walnut collaboration as surprise (I say it was a surprise, but I accidentally ruined a few months ago by booking us a table and forced him to confess
Fantastic! there were 6 weeks waiting to come here on a Saturday night, but that was worth it. I can't remember what I had to eat since it was a couple of weeks ago, but I remember everything being fantastic. the service was very pleasant and attentive to the earth, instead of the pretentious employees they get in some Michelin star restaurants. very good and I am very happy about my visit.
My man took me too simpsons for my birthday and I couldn't make a single detail. the personal was fantastic, I loved the fact that they explained us all dishes and could not be more helpful. eating was only heavenly everything was cooked to perfection. yes, it was expensive, but was worth every single penny for a really special tasty bite and I would recommend it to others.
1star spot on judgement. Food interesting and presented really well. Crispy duck egg starter done to a tee with perfect yolk, quail great but needed bit more liquid with the cous cous. Suckling pig with trimmings faultless, especially black pudding and accompaniments. Best thrill of evening, turron parfait dessert, a must , such a Heston blumenthal type surprise I must not describe. Waitress delightful, overworked and kept smiling under pressure. Embarrassed to have to pour my decanted wine as sommelier nowhere to be seen much of time. Asked me what is needed to make a 2 star probably more quantity of front of house would be a start, no issue with their quality on this occasion. Other boggle petit fours brought alongside dessert , no coffee had as yet been ordered, my wife would have asked for decaf then large but nice pot of filter arrived again unordered. I must stress the complaints are niggles which in no way spoilt a lovely evening but, since I was asked my opinion as to why star number 2 is not fothcoming, this is my humble opinion. Go and see how Monseir Blanc's team do it in Oxford guys!
