Reviews praise Maison Mayci’s exceptional patisserie, bread and coffee; notes: warm service most times, occasional menu gaps, busy small space and rare service slips.
Found this place purely by chance on Trip Advisor when we were looking for a place for Breakfast. Me and my wife love cosy French cafe-type places and we were very hopeful of this place. And we were not disappointed. The interior was cosy, comfy and welcoming-perfect for a morning coffee and croissant. Speaking of the coffee and croissants, the bread was flaky and delicious and the coffee more than passed the test. I had the eggs and bacon and my wife had the salmon. Both very nice but the ambience of the cafe pushed it to greatness. Really happy with it, made you feel like live visited a quaint village in France, which certainly beats the reality of the bustling high street of Kings Heath. Will definitely visit again.
I recently visited this busy deli-with-seating for lunch. There are options of platters, salads, sandwiches, daily specials and more. I went for the fish platter £8.20) which arrived on a fish shaped plate and consisted of portions of smoked salmon, smoked trout, smoked mackerel, marinated anchovies and tiger prawns accompanied by a small bowl of olives and gherkins and a basket of toasted slices of home made bread. It was excellent and very good value. The coffee was also very good. The staff are friendly and efficient so, all in all, a great lunch. If you can get a seat, well worth a try.
Really nice place, delicious salads, superb tarts, (even better than the ones in France! , nice ambience... Absolutely amazing!
Had superb French fruit tart.. with perfect expresso. Plate is beautifully decorated with creme anglais and fruit compote, all served by lovely staff in this bakery and with rustic chic decor Cafe. Serve meals too. Do buy the real bread too.

Regulars often arrive mid-morning specifically to grab a loaf or a particular patisserie that sells out quickly — the counter changes through the day, so asking staff “what’s just come out of the oven?” usually reveals the best treats.
