We were planning to stop for a bite to eat, but the cobwebs brushing against my head made us reconsider. It seemed like a lovely café, though!
I had a delightful stroll around St Ives Estate with some friends and our little ones before heading to Lady B's for lunch. While I couldn’t find anything wrong with the food, I was disappointed when I was asked not to feed my 8-month-old son his lunch because they have a strict no packed lunches policy. I explained that there wasn't anything on their menu suitable for him, but she insisted that they don't allow outside food. Given this experience, it’s safe to say we won’t be returning anytime soon.
I was extremely disappointed with the service at this restaurant. I asked for a simple slice of toast and some warmed beans for my 4-year-old son, who has autism, but was denied because it wasn't on the lunch menu. This lack of accommodation felt very discriminatory. I won't be coming back again.
The minute steak and onion ciabatta was delightful, though the ham toastie could have used more ham. The drinks were acceptable. This café serves as a convenient stop for walkers and visitors to the St. Ives estate. The service was prompt, and the staff were friendly. Overall, it met our expectations and was quite satisfactory.
I stopped by Lady B's Cafe in St Ives Park at 2:55 PM on Saturday, April 29, 2017, and asked for a tuna fish sandwich from the menu. To my surprise, I was told they had finished serving food for the day. What on earth? I wasn't the only customer facing this issue. What's going on with places like this? It's as if they don't want to make money...
