The overall quality is extremely good, a... read more One of the great things in the basque country is that there's a lot of place where you can have a good lunch or dinner. The overall quality is extremely good, and there might not be another place in the world where there's a lower chance of finding an actually bad place to eat... well, Amaya is one of those exceptions. The food is not horrible, but it's not cheap at all, and it's definitely not good either. I can't actually think of any good quality of the restaurant except location. Works well for getting a pintxo, but definitely not for lunch or dinner. You have much better choices in the Casco Viejo.

Once seated we ordered a bottle of wine and asked to have a few minutes before ordering our meal. Looking around the facilities we were impressed with the beauty. The restaurant was very clean and everything was in order. I had been some what concerns when we had walked in because the waiter did not speak English however he seamed to understand our request. The menu was in English. I said this was priced mid range. The meal in the USA would have cost twice as much or more and been worth it.
