But no—it was real. Everything was real. And my inner coherence immediately gave up. The döner was so crammed full that I briefly wondered if it was going to chop my hand off when I bit into it. Meat, sauce, vegetables—a wild heap that worked together like a drunken circus clown on roller skates. The pizza? I swear, it smiled at me before I devoured it, and I loved it while simultaneously slightly regretting that I hadn 't put on a stomach-strengthening belt beforehand. The atmosphere? A mix of cozy corner pub and party that doesn 't yet know it 's a party. I sat there, swaying, laughing—probably more than appropriate for a Tuesday evening—and just thought, Why didn 't I discover this sooner? And yes, I 'll mention Damian from Combi again—without him, I probably would never have stumbled upon this place, and my life would be poorer.
