I would rate the food and... read more Took granddaughters here for hibachi for one?s birthday tonight. Food was mediocre?little taste and the oil for the grill tasted old. I would rate the food and service a 3. However, on a bill of nearly $114 (before tax , I left a $26 tip. I had alreadytipped the chef $10 at the end of his cooking. (You do the math! I always tip 20% and usually on pretax. The hostess broughteverything back to say I didn?t leave enough?she wanted 20% on the bottom line. ?We have to pay the chef?. My explanations allof a sudden did not seem to be understood. I have never been insulted like this in any restaurant?in most states in this countryand on three continents! We are from out of town, but visit the Cape Ann area often because we have family here. Other membersof our family visit here for the same reason. And all of us spend a lot of money in area restaurants. Suffice it to say, no moreof my food dollars, or that of my extended family and hopefully many of our local friends, will be going to the Mikado.
