Skyview - Berwyn
Skyview
Description
A beloved neighborhood brunch spot with warm, family-style service and reliably tasty breakfast plates, favored by regulars and families. Servers are cheerful and attentive, and the atmosphere feels homey. However, operational problems tarnish the experience: tiny dessert portions, flaky payment/checkout systems, and serious failures in event/banquet management — including rude ownership behavior, food mistakes, scheduling issues, and limited restroom availability. Great for casual brunches and weeknight meals, but avoid booking large events until management addresses these recurring problems.

If you are looking to have your event here, DON’T!! My experience was horrible right front the start and the owner only cares about getting the money and after that does not care about the events as long as you pay that’s all that matters to him. I had a contract set and he did not respect it. He proceeded to favor another client simply because they had paid for open bar and we did not. He blantly told me to my face “the house always has to win” and he acted very rude and showed no remorse. I had unfortunately sent out the invitations as soon as I secured the place and gave my deposit and signed the contract, I then received a call that I needed to come in and discuss some issues since he was not the one that took the information he would like to talk to me. I went in and that is when he told me he would not honor the contract and that I was being moved to a smaller room when I had signed for the big room. He then proceeded to say lie after lie and put the blame on me and did not apologize and stated; your options are take the small room or cancel. I should of cancelled but I did not since invitations were sent and people were flying in on the day, something he did not care at all for. Then the event went even worse, he never showed his face he did not come to the room and check in on us, he served the wrong food. I had paid for beef and be served pork roast and when I went to go look for him to complain he again said no this is what you said, I asked to see the order paperwork and he refuse. I managed to find a copy and showed him he then said well nothing to do now. I asked if there would be some kind or refund given since I paid extra to have beef he then stated it’s all the same price when I know it was not. He refused to show me a copy of the menu with pricing. Food was really bad, no flavor, dry chicken and no salt or seasoning on anything. Only one working bathroom from 2 party’s of 80 people. I heard from the other party their food was served 2 hours late from the time they had requested. They also stated the owner had called them to say the hall was not ready and to call all their guest and have them come later than the schedule time. Please save your money and don’t book here it will ruin your event!!! Meal type: Other Price per person: $100+
I was gonna book an event but after reading all this bad reviews I said “no way “!!!!!
The only reason I gave this restaurant 4 stars was because the check out process was difficult. The server had to hand write the bill and add it with paper and pen. There were 7 of us and we asked for one bill thinking that would be the easiest. They ran the credit card twice before they asked for a different credit card that one was also ran twice (there was nothing wrong with either card, there machine was off line). So we all had to pitch in cash to pay. The person in our group who was paying for everyone was very upset that we all had to pitch in. The food and service were good. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I love going to this place with my family. Everyone there is so nice and they make us feel welcomed every time. Their food is also really good!
