The prices are cheaper than in other places in the town, however, the prices in Switzerland are expensive. Good service, but noone speak English or French. However normally you will not need a servise as you will be easily able to serve yourself even without speaking Swiss German

It is open from 7... read more After spending a few days searching for reasonably priced food in Bern I stumbled across this restaurant located above the Coop grocery store. It is open from 7:30am until around 6 pm but the best selection is from 11 until 1. There is a wide variety of pastries, sweets, salads, canapes (sandwiches), pastas, stews, hot dishes, and beverages. most items are priced according to the size of plate you select, not the weight of the food like many other take away places charge. So, you can select a medium sized plate (9.95 francs) and really pile it on. The food is delicious. The location on the second floor allows a view of the neighborhood and on nice weather days there is an outside terrace to dine on. What a find in an otherwise expensive food city.

Some restaurants e.g. in La... read more Meals are tasty, fresh, and there is a big choice ot them. Prices are really low, as compared to other places to eat in Switzerland. Some restaurants e.g. in Lausanne and in Basel are on top of a building, offering seats in a terrace with great view. To my regret, Coop restaurants close very early about 18.30 Mon-Fri, earlier on Sundays and Saturdays , it's beter to check the opening hours before.

Scegliendo poi il menù del giorno a piatto unico l'offerta risulta ancora più vantaggiosa. Questi ristoranti si trovano sempre all'interno dei supermercati coop quindi anche molto comodi come di come parcheggio.
