It’s nice inside but best in summer in the garden. The prices are reasonable for Switzerland and Bern. Booking is highly recommended as the place is...very busy. Vegetarian, fish and meat dishes on the menu. Seasonal and frequently changing dishes on a black board.

The owner however can seem a bit grumpy at times, but once you know her, she lightens up. If...in Bern, a must go. Notice to book well in advance, because the place is always packed.

The place was small and tidy, decent eating. it was good until it was time to pay. we were literally questioned by the dame (I suspected the owner) why we want... read more The place was small and tidy, decent eating. it was good until it was time to pay. we were literally questioned by the dame (I suspected the owner) why we want to pay separately, why we ordered everyone another drink instead of wein. for all of us, it was even bad when my friend wanted to pay the card. She has not only denied us very rudely, but told us that she paid her baker and her metzger every penny per cash money and that we just expect to. when we asked where the next cash machine is, she couldn't answer it. when we finally helped my friend collect enough money to pay. the dame was very annoyed that we were so much time and so many coins involved. when she counted the coins with my friend, she also counted a part of it as her tips! of which my friend refused immediately. at the latest she was really very upset at us and began to talk with all the others in the restaurant open and loud how bad we acted. I have to say what an experience! I wouldn't dare to disturb you again.

It's recommended to reserve a table. The atmosphere is casual (no dresscode , and very Bernese (locals, all kinds of people speaking all kinds of...languages, simple, old and almost vintage interior etc Zebra offers a balanced variety of Italian and French dishes, from normal, organic to vegetarian food. The ingredients are of excellent quality and exquisitely prepared. As the kitchen is open, you can watch the chefs preparing the meals. The food is simply delicious! It's rather pricey (don't even look at the wine card... , however it's worth it.
