Walking around the area, we stumbled u... read more On our first night in Berlin we arrived too late for us to want to head out into the centre to look for somewhere to eat. Walking around the area, we stumbled upon this lovely little place. We were warmly welcomed, and the place was a typical looking German bar: cozy and inviting, just what we wanted.The waitress spoke perfect English, and was very sweet and patient with us as we tried to decide on our food :) Both our meals were absolutely delicious, and the portions are more than generous! We liked this place so much we decided to go back on our last night too, and we were not disappointed! Once again, great food, huge portions, and service with a smile by our favourite waitress whose name we unfortunately did not get. This time we helped ourselves to dessert too, highly recommended! We stayed in a hotel close to the Günzelstrasse underground station, so anyone in the vicinity on holiday in Berlin looking for a delicious, very well priced meal should definitely pay Witwe Bolte a visit :)

We weren't disappointed - it was nice and friendly, and the food was good and good value. We all had the speciality chicken - literally half a chicken, deep fried. It was very juicy, with a delicious crispy skin. We also had the apple strudel which was the best I have tasted. The wine and beer we also good. There was an English menu, and the manager also spoke good English.
