The room itself is interesting. It is big but partitioned in a way that adds intimacy, including a partial second floor over the foyer. The fabric arm chairs, floor lamps, lighting, and couches add to the conversational atmosphere. Which is not to say that the place doesn't get spirited on weekends. It did on the Friday night of my first visit. People were clearly enjoying themselves, wave after wave. The staff is friendly and English speaking. I was recognized on my second visit. As with many bars and restaurants in Berlin, the expectation seems to be to pay in cash and include a tip. I had a good Cabernet the night before and beers on my second visit. This time I had nachos, with chicken and cheese. I am not sure that was a German thing but it tasted like home. Most places in Berlin don't fuss much about varieties on tap and so, like elsewhere, I wasn't offered a choice and was not sure what I was drinking. I liked it and I like the Volksbar.

Super cosy place. Different looking comfy armchairs and sofas, dim lighting. Perfect for a romantic date, book reading when sitting next to a lamp or just chilled hangouts with friends. They have a big bar where they serve alcohol but also coffee and hot chocolate ~3€ . Forgot to take photos, but will do next time, as I am surely coming back many many times.

Why not stop by if you're in the area. Seems like and all-day-long place; comfy for a midday coffee (those bohemian armchairs were top), chilled for an evening beer and cool for a nighty drink. The Gin Tonic was pretty disappointing and the service extremely slow. But somehow I always spent more than three hours there every time I go.

Trendy bar in trendy Prenzlauerberg. Has a living-room feel with lots of big sofas and comfy chairs. It was pretty empty but that was probably something to do with it being a Tuesday evening. However it seemed very relaxed. I was told that Volksbar doubles as a shoe shop during the day. Haven't seen it myself.sounds intriguing.

The revamped Volksbar is worth a visit. Well done upstairs area with a mish-mosh of couches and sofas. Comfortable seating and a fairly large room to hang out. Service was super nice (but one star was deducted for being a bit slow.she seemed to be new. Didn't visit the club when it was full but a fun location. Drinks were well mixed and the crowd seemed a bit touristy yet relaxed and talkative. The location is perfectly situated between Prenzlauer Berg and Mitte and is easy to find. Fun places around to hit before or after trying out this bar. Do recommend that you stop by.
