The four-course meal with wine pairing was fantastic. The service was excellent – highly recommended! I'll definitely be back.

Great lunch menu on Saturday... and the price is great too... as are the wines.

A great place for drink and food. High quality in wine, lunch and service for a reasonable price. And the folks are highly qualified in wine. I recommend Marian, a greats sommelier!

We went to the Morgenpost menu. The service was excellent, and the food with wine pairing was superb. The menu is down-to-earth and reasonably priced. We'll gladly come again.

Today, back at my favorite restaurant in the Friedenau neighborhood on Rheinstrasse near Walter-Schreiber-Platz, just in time for the weekend! It's actually a very nice, large wine shop with an extensive selection of excellent wines! It was a great idea to offer a lunch menu from 12-3 pm in addition to dinner in the evenings starting at 6 pm: there are two set menus that change daily (one with meat or chicken, and one vegan/vegetarian), and on Fridays there's always a very sophisticated fish dish! Today I opted for braised ox shoulder, followed by carrot cake with raspberry egg, and finished with a cappuccino! Absolutely delicious food! That's also the hallmark of this remarkable restaurant: everything used is sourced locally, freshly prepared by an outstanding team, and nothing comes from a can or the freezer! The open kitchen also offers the opportunity to watch the nimble chefs at work! And of course, if there are many guests at once, there can be a wait! But this restaurant is definitely not a fast-food joint! The restaurant is easily accessible for wheelchair users via the courtyard entrance! There's also an accessible restroom! Parking is available, though only with a bit of luck, along the street or in the median strip: and only with a parking ticket! Currently, there's construction on Rheinstrasse, so finding a parking spot is a matter of pure luck! The frequent staff turnover somewhat dampens the enjoyment of regular customers! But as long as the two regular servers, Marian and Simone, greet the guests warmly, all is well, because it's not just good food that's important, but also how guests are welcomed! And every now and then, there's a little surprise when Ralf Zacherl, known to many from his TV appearances, is bustling around the restaurant! There's always time for a little chat with the TV chef about good food! Regulars aren't entirely satisfied. Report from August 16, 2025: Today, the kitchen crew at Schmidt Z Co. truly spoiled us: 3-course menu: Appetizer: Icelandic redfish fillet à la escabeche with beetroot and dill Main course: Roasted chicken breast on a grain and herb salad with white radish For dessert: Iced white chocolate tartlet with stewed apricots! And to finish, an espresso! I couldn't have eaten better, even in a 5-star restaurant in Dubai!! (Explanation of escabeche: a tangy marinade made with vinegar, oil, and spices) A wonderful visit!!! For food lovers, Schmidt Z Co. will also be offering great cooking classes again this fall
