We came on a day when we had choice between ravioli and a risotto, which were both delicious and very reasonably priced. The concept is great of course and run by volunteers. What's not to like?!
The place scored points immediately as they served fresh water from the tap even before handing over the drinks list.In this place you can either book for the round of 18h or for the round of 20h. Menu is fixed and you can order full menu or single dishes from it.That evening's menu was vegan and was good.Beer, Potsdamer Stange, one of the best beer I've ever drunk.I only have a slight complain about portions and price. For the menu and two beers I paid almost 30 Euros and although they were kind to give me one dish extra for free, I was still not satisfied with the overall quantity.
Great food from "food surplus" of bio markets and farmers. One dish is always vegetarian, can be vegan, and other dishes sometimes have meat. Service staff is mostly volunteers with price ranges per dish, inexpensive, at 6-9 euros. Weekends (Friday and Saturday) a preset 3 course meal is offered around 20-24 euros not including beverage. You can also order a la cart on weekends. Menu changes daily due to food availability making this a place to visit frequently. They have biodynamic wines as well. Recommend the Riesling or Grauburgunder. Food is flavorful and presented beautifully. I also requested smaller portions which was enough for me. Stop in and contribute to a great cause while consuming great food.
Dinners are usually vegetarian as the restaurant works directly with supermarkets, whole sellers and farmers to obtain products they can no longer sell, which is mainly fruits, vegetables and bread with many of the products being organic. Meals can also be vegan if they know ahead of time. Wednesday and Thursday prices are lower between 6-10 euros per option. The had two choices plus dessert. They also offer a selection of wines - many biodynamic and are good. Friday and Saturday they have a set 3 course meal for 20-24 euros, but you can order single courses as well. The food and plating was creative and delicious with portion sizes perfect. Due to being conscious of waste, you can order smaller portions, but at the same price. The staff is mostly volunteer and delightful. Definitely check this place out!
