Had a chicken Gemüse durum tonight. Really nice sauce and the bread was perfect just a bit crispy. We had to wait 25 minutes and hover close to the busy tables to try to get a place to sit. The free tea was great on a cold night like tonight.

Proviant is a great option if your love your cheese and fancy sausages. The breakfast platter is full of delights from the Alpes, France and Italy and their bread is amazing as well. You can also buy all the ingredients in the shop and have your breakfast at home here as this is mainly a deli.

When our intended breakfast destination was closed when we arrived, we popped into Proviant instead. Breakfast is a big deal in Germany and this is a terrific place to take yours, especially if you can consume it at one of their sidewalk tables. The frühstück selections are wide various types of breads, meats, cheese, jams, spreads so I'd suggest getting an assortment. I've been twice and both times been impressed when everything arrives nicely presented on a wooden platter. My personal favourites include the flaky laugen croissant (with Nutella, of course), gossamer thin slices of chorizo and Manchego cheese. And it wouldn't be breakfast in Germany without a soft boiled egg served in a tiny holder, eaten with an equally wee spoon! In sum, for frühstück in Friedrichshain this is the spot.

This place....Oef i still dream about it. This one is the best. Really worth the five stars. Although it was a little expensive. We paid around 50 euros for breakfast. But I will do it again without a doubt. We had two different kinda of breakfast to share with the three of us. Both where vegetarian. You get loads of different cheeses and spreads, some vegetables and fruits. Served with different kinds of (whole grain) bread. Half way we got even some extra bread. AND.... we enjoyed every second. We almost liked out plates. It was amazing. We where sitting out side, there where two or three tables to sit down. The sun was out and we wanted to sit outside although it was a little cold. Inside there where some place to sit too. For the people who do eat meat, they had various range of (biological) meat. They sold sandwiches to for lunch or maybe on the road. They had some nice Italian products too, like oils, pasta, different bio juices and some pastry. Everything looked so lovely. Like you wanna taste and try everything. But, bring along cash. Most of the foreign cards aren't working here. But hey, that should really stop you to go!

Think of this as a independent, healthier and more intimate alternative to Subway (although it hurts to even say that). This shop is located on a corner around the area of Simon-Dach and Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain. You can choose and combine from the fresh and highquality variety of bread, cheese, veggies, meat and pesto to create your sandwich. The staff was very patient and friendly with me, although I had a hard time deciding. I paid about 4.50€ for a small sandwich with Manchego cheese, prosciutto crudo, truffle pesto and rucola. This might seem like a high price to pay but it was a kickass sandwich and anyone should try it. They have good coffee as well and a good selection of bio products like pasta and etc. that you can also buy there. Very charming interior as well.
