Was Anonym at Platzhirsch a mag?
Been often, never disappointed. Waiters friendly and efficient but sometimes rushed off their feet on busy day. TBles under leafy trees. Fine view of the famous fountain. View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Platzhirsch:
We ordered two typical cakes (appelstrudel and kasekuchen), a cup of cappuccino, small plate of fried potatos and berliner pilsener-small beer (0.3l). We paid 15.10 Euro. Atmosphere was nice due to sun (it was sunny day in Berlin), tables in open area and near by flea market of Schöneberg. That is it. I couldn't find any positive thing. We certainly waited 20 minutes to order and another 20 to pay bill. View all feedback.

We found this great place on a walk to see the plaque commemorating JFK's Berliner speech. (its literately across the street) We were so welcomed and had a group of 10 and were expertly serviced. The food and drink were timely even though it was busy and there only 3 servers. The servers helped us pick dishes, as there were only 2 of us fluent in German. Great spot, had a great time. I wish all the places we ate in Berlin were as great.

I was going through many chefs at this place, I experienced ups and downs, I came back because it's so close and convenient and it has light and fresh Koelsch brew, but lately I love to dine there as they found the perfect chef for their place, let's call it home cooked food in a private setting, a blend of German regional with Italian and French accents, highly recommended, don't be fooled by the rustic appearance

The PlatzHirsch is open only in summer. It is connected with the Ratskeller Schöneberg. Situated beside the Rathaus Schöneberg and at the end of the Volkspark it is a lively beer garden and restaurant, Friendly staff and always a great place for people watching! Their Flammkuchen is delicious or if you want to snack then there is Currywurst and Pommes and great beer! Frequent wedding parties from the Rathaus add life and colour to the venue! Take the U4 to Rathaus Schöneberg (One of the most beautiful underground stations in the system!) and stroll through the Volkspark until you come to the fountain with the Golden Stag on top. Turn left and there is PlatzHirsch!

Our last day in Berlin was a quiet sunny Sunday. We had a wander around the flea market over the road saw this place so decided on a late brunch. There were plenty of tables around outside and each chair had a little blanket on to ward off any chills. It was early March and was warm in the sun so the blankets were a nice touch. Also around were deck chairs to relax in where several people were enjoying a coffee and a book read. Most certainly a very relaxed way to spend a Sunday morning. We didn't have to wait too long to be served, personally I opted for a lovely slice of appelstrudel and a half litre of Berlin beer which I thoroughly enjoyed. Service was a little slow but then it added to the relaxed atmosphere on a Sunday morning. I am so pleased we found this place, it comes well recommended!
