The crowd however has a lot of people in button up shirts (weird in Berlin and in a dive bar) and A LOT of thirsty guys. I would avoid it as a woman unless. But the music was good.

He gave me 10 € of change less and I immediately told him but he didn't want to admit his “mistake“ and so he stole me 10€... This never happened to me before and I'll never go there again. If you are unlucky enough to end up in that place, please look at your money!

Today I still visit it often and it kept the same atmosphere as before : it is smoky as hell, the music is good, the drinks are reasonably priced and the crowd is usually nice. They have a kicker for those who didn't come for the music In general you have to pay a small cover fee of 3-6 euros to get in and you should expect to leave smelly and in great need of a shower. Needless today, do not take your super cool coat that you can't wash inside this place!

The monarch is the first bar I have ever visited in berlin. that was about 6 years ago. today I still visit it often and it kept the same atmosphere as before:... read more The monarch is the first bar I have ever visited in berlin. that was about 6 years ago. today I still visit it often and it kept the same atmosphere as before: it is smokey as the hell, the music is good, the drinks are inexpensive and the amount is really nice. they have a kicker for those who have not come for the music in the rule they have to pay a small deck fee of 3-6 euro to get in and they should expect that they smell and in great need a shower. unnecessary today, do not take their super cool coat that they cannot wash in this place!
