Brilliant service here! my sister loved the steak here, but being a vegetarian myself, a statehouse seems far from an ideal place to eat, but ordering my meal f... read more Brilliant service here! my sister loved the steak here, but being a vegetarian myself, a statehouse seems far from an ideal place to eat, but ordering my meal from the side dishes was a great choice; they had a huge selection from which i chose grilled vegetables, onion rings, chips, and garlic bread, and i was not disappointed; their portion sizes were healthy, the waiter was attentive yet unobtrusive, atmosphere was so friendly that my sister and i decided to splash out on dessert (something we rarely do due to tight budgets) and we were thoroughly impressed. the prices were decent, and this restaurant's proximity to friedrichstraße makes it very accessible; it's definitely worth a meal here.

We sat outside as weather was nice, got 2 beers and waited for meal to come. We got grilled pan with a side of fries and asparagus risotto. Because of the wind pan got cold quickly the same with food. The highlight of the dinner was risotto it was creamy and delicious. Price was ok. Food was ok. Service very nice. From what I understood it's a chain and that was one was opened few weeks ago.

We arrived at a time where lunch is usually over, but here you can arrive mid-afternoon, and you will get friendly service and good food.

Never, ever, should a hotel recommend a chain restaurant when asked by a guest “where is a great restaurant nearby.” The Maredo is not a good restaurant. It is a huge chain of steakhouses all over Europe. It’s poorly executed menu, bad food, and grumpy servers make it certainly one place to avoid! I’d rather eat at a Hard Rock Cafe than a Maredo. If you do not take my advice and do eat here, DO NOT order the steak burger. It is simply a bad cut of steak on a bun that cannot be eaten without a knife. There are plenty of great restaurants in this part of Berlin. Do yourself a favor, keep looking.
