There was absolutely no attempt to welcome a guest. I honestly felt like I was just in the way as a paying customer. If you refuse to serve anyone an hour before closing time, you should adjust your opening hours or ask yourself why you 're even running a restaurant. That 's not what service looks like. Often, people complain about high energy and staffing costs and how challenging it is to run a restaurant these days. With that kind of attitude, though, you should ask yourself whether the problem really lies with external circumstances or with your own treatment of guests.
