Chao had a good s... read more We had a great experience at Chao after discovering that the restaurant we were actually headed to (which was next door) was under renovation. Chao had a good selection of Vietnamese dishes to a very affordable price , and is definitely a place a student...like myself would visit again to get a nice dinner on a low budget. They also had very exiting deserts, like mochi and black rice with yogurt, which was a nice change from your average vanilla ice cream. Despite some mess ups with our order (which the waiter was very honestly apologetic about) I would definitely return!

Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed with the meal the food was not awful but pretty boring. Especially the Pho being served without the requisite...fresh herbs on the side made it fairly flavorless, basically just a giant bowl of plain rice noodles in an unremarkable chicken broth. They have a nice long list of non alcoholic fruit drinks and shakes, which were probably our favorite part, and the restaurant itself is a little bit nicer looking than the thousands of other mediocre Vietnamese places in the city, but since this area is full of great restaurants we certainly won't be coming back for the very average food here.

We ate 3-course menu, enjoyed a lovely bottle of Riesling and had plenty of other green tea and lime juice based drinks with our 3 kids and everyone loved it! Clean, clear tastes and all was...prepared well from fresh ingredients. Exceptional value for money; total price for the whole evening was only under 25 euros per person! Highly recommended!
