We f... read more At the Christmas Market in Gendarmarkt, Brechts has a little restaurant set up with a small but good menu. Schnitzel warm potato salad was yummy and fresh. We followed that with a great dessert that we shared. Apricot inside pastry balls with cream and berries. Prices were quite reasonable and the waitress looked after us in a pleasant and friendly manner. Worth a go but it's only there until the Christmas market closes at the end of December. Their full restaurant isn't a far walk and if the food is as good, wirth the stroll.

We ordered 2 cocktails and 2 spaghetti's. Something went wrong in their kitchen, so we got our food after 1/2h. No remarks, very tasty ! Nevertheless, a drink (or coffee) for this delay should be offered. Due to the fact that the lunch was almost perfect, we returned some days later for having dinner (after making an online reservation). This time we had a Dry Aged Rib Eye and a schnitzel with potatoes and a salad. For sure no WHAUW effect. The Rib Eye was like a normal one (no Dry Age taste at all). The look of the breaded schnitzel was... ugly. I decided to scrap the bread. The schnitzel himself was miserable and was not flavored, so very tasteless. The location is a plus, but don't expect too much. If they are willing to upgrade some plates and if the cook is willing to do some extra efforts, it can be much better.

Overlooked then undercooked steak(not really acceptable for a steakhouse, certainly not one charging upwards of 35 Euro for 4 oz). Asked some consideration in the bill and were denied. Sister in-law lost the entire next day of our trip to food poisoning. Stay way from this place.

Try other steak houses first. The salmon tartar was good but the avocado tartar tasted like guacamole. Afterwards three filet steaks were served. One was very nice and two very completet done but were ordered medium . We sent the steaks back, one steaks was then redone and on point. A At the same time, the other steak was reserved to us and we were told the cook said it is medium in the middle. Not acceptable! I was very dissapointed that discussions were started about the steak although we were not satsified. Later we were offered free coffee or desert as an excuse which was very nice so plus points for that. Overall the waiters were friendly but at this price point such an experience is not acceptable.

Management/ the chef also did not serve my sister in law well over 15 min after everyone received their food. Management did not offer us any time of compensation for the lack of service on their part. Disappointing experience
