Th... read more The service is super professional. The way they treated the customers was very cozy and warmhearted. This is the best service I had over two weeks in Berlin. The food is excellent. Authentic yet mix nicely (the meat and Vegetables). I loved it! I am so much willing to offer tips!

My visit to Brechts Steakhaus on Schiffbauerdam was wonderful. I would particularly like to highlight the service: the staff was attentive, warm, and at the same time pleasantly unobtrusive. You always felt welcome. Add to that the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant – perfect for a quiet chat and enjoying the evening. A place I'd happily recommend and certainly won't be the last time I visit. Best regards :

I especially recommend the truffle pata and the chimichurry sauce. This goes better with the rump steak than the pepper sauce. Unfortunately, it tasted bland, like a brown sauce without any pepper. A few more green peppercorns wouldn 't have hurt. Unfortunately, you couldn 't detect any peppercorns in the sauce.

The interior of the restaurant was lovely — cozy, well-designed, and inviting. Everything seemed to promise a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. Our waitress looked extremely tired and unkempt — her false eyelashes were falling off, and her hair was messy, the clothes was dirty. It immediately made us feel uncomfortable. When we asked for some clarification about the menu and whether she could recommend a steak (as my mom was interested in the Argentinian one), she seemed to misunderstand us — her English wasn’t very good — and suddenly raised her voice at us. She said we were being too indecisive about expensive food, which shocked us. We calmly asked why she was speaking to us like that, and she immediately apologized, saying she was very tired and had worked 14 hours the day before and 10 hours that day. Still, this didn’t feel like a good excuse for such behavior. We came to relax and enjoy our time, not to be made uncomfortable. In the end, we canceled our order and left without eating. It’s a shame — the place has potential, but the way the staff is treated seems to reflect on the customer experience. I believe the issue is not just with one employee, but with the management that allows such working conditions. Hopefully, they reconsider their approach to staffing and service quality. We f... read more At the Christmas Market in Gendarmarkt, Brechts has a little restaurant set up with a small but good menu. Schnitzel warm potato salad was yummy and fresh. We followed that with a great dessert that we shared. Apricot inside pastry balls with cream and berries. Prices were quite reasonable and the waitress looked after us in a pleasant and friendly manner. Worth a go but it's only there until the Christmas market closes at the end of December. Their full restaurant isn't a far walk and if the food is as good, wirth the stroll.

We ordered 2 cocktails and 2 spaghetti's. Something went wrong in their kitchen, so we got our food after 1/2h. No remarks, very tasty ! Nevertheless, a drink (or coffee) for this delay should be offered. Due to the fact that the lunch was almost perfect, we returned some days later for having dinner (after making an online reservation). This time we had a Dry Aged Rib Eye and a schnitzel with potatoes and a salad. For sure no WHAUW effect. The Rib Eye was like a normal one (no Dry Age taste at all). The look of the breaded schnitzel was... ugly. I decided to scrap the bread. The schnitzel himself was miserable and was not flavored, so very tasteless. The location is a plus, but don't expect too much. If they are willing to upgrade some plates and if the cook is willing to do some extra efforts, it can be much better.

One was very nice and two very completet done but were ordered medium . We sent the steaks back, one steaks was then redone and on point. A At the same time, the other steak was reserved to us and we were told the cook said it is medium in the middle. Not acceptable! I was very dissapointed that discussions were started about the steak although we were not satsified. Later we were offered free coffee or desert as an excuse which was very nice so plus points for that. Overall the waiters were friendly but at this price point such an experience is not acceptable.

There are a couple of vegetarian dishes but really this is a meat lover’s paradise. My steak was delicious and the chunky chips were perfect, great wine selection to accompany your dish too. The outside area over looks the river and at night can get chilly but everyone has a blanket on the back of the seat to keep warm if needed. There’s a large seating are inside the restaurant as well as outside so something for everyone. It’s a very romantic atmosphere and a great place to go on a date, the prices are reasonable for the excellent quality of food and drinks that are served. I highly recommend Brechts Steakhaus to anyone looking for a tasty evening with brilliant friendly atmosphere. @Brechtssteakhaus

They informed us ou... read more We were on our way to our New Years eve dinner and called Brechts Steak house to say we were stuck in traffic and were running 10 mins late. They informed us our reservation was cancelled even though it had been confirmed by open table 12/30. It ruined our New years eve celebration. I'm guessing the restaurant did this because I've never had this type experience with open table but I haven't done international reservations through open table before.
