It's an over rated place, the quality is just fine, there are far better places. We ordered dosa and the chutney was stale, and gone bad. And even the chats were not upto the mark. Cholle bhaturas are fine, so is the kulfi I would look for other Indian options, which are plenty in the bay area. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend
Vik's Chat was one of the top results when I searched best Indian food in SF. even though the place was in Berkley I thought to give it a try. After reading some good and bad reviews I feel I needed to see what is good there. The place had a nice backyardwhere people can sit and eat their food. It is like a grocery store with a food corner. I was not that hungry so I just wantedto taste one thing from this place and chole bhature was something everyone said was really good here. I have never had adecent chole bhature since I have been here in the US so I didn't have high hopes for this place either. The place wasrather clean and spacious. They have a token system where you pay and then your name is called for the food. I was seeing howthe bhatura was made and it reminded me of how it is made in India . when my order was ready they called my name and I could seethe bhatura all puffed up .it got me excited. honestly, this was the most delicious chole bhature i have ever had. price wiseI would say it was a bit pricey considering you get one big bhatura . Overall I really enjoyed the food.
Viks Chaat is a good place to go to try some not common Indian food. Plenty of vegetarian options. It'd ne nice if they had more pictures or ingredients in their menu for those of us who are not very familiar with the names. Warehouse-like environment withindoor and outdoor sitting. Portions are pretty decent.
Since I wasn’t very hungry, I just wanted to try one dish, and the chole bhature came highly recommended by many. I hadn’t had a decent chole bhature since moving to the U.S., so my expectations were not very high. The place was quite clean and spacious, and they operate on a token system where you pay first and then they call your name when your food is ready. As I watched the bhatura being prepared, it reminded me of how it’s made back in India. When my order was finally ready, I was thrilled to see a perfectly puffed bhatura. To be honest, this was the most delicious chole bhature I’ve ever tasted. While I found it a bit pricey for just one large bhatura, overall, I truly enjoyed the meal.
