this is a pretty nice vegan place. everything was delicious! we had the gyoza, the ewa and the pokai. the ewa was our favorite! I feel like I'd appreciated this place more if I hadn't been vegetarian for so many years and vegan for 4. I had heard about Tane opening in Berkeley for a while and thought I might like to try it. Tane's sister restaurant Shizen in SF has gotten rave reviews for years and I've never been able to get there. Tane blew me away! Barely any quantity of food. Not even chopsticks sent... sad to see the $50 order be almost nothing
I was a little let down by the portion size of the Eggplant Tataki (GF) (4 pieces), but the preparation and flavors of both dishes were fantastic.
