Not only was the person taking m... read more I regret having previously reviewed a different smokehouse, thinking it was this one! SMOKED BERKELEY is a huge disappointment. Not only was the person taking my order rude and condescending, but the smoked beef dish I ordered was incredibly dry. The side dishes and the beef were also quite pricey. Save your time and choose another place! This is not a fake review; I understand they're closed now, but when I visited, they had a salmon dish on the menu that was dry and over-smoked—meaning it lacked flavor and was just dried out. I also tried a beef dish, which I think was brisket, but I can't be certain. It was decent but similarly dry, and for the price, it just wasn't worth it!

They were originally located on San Pablo Avenue near the old car wash. We all miss Tina, whom we affectionately called Momma Tina, along with her son Shawn and the rest of the team. They are absolutely fantastic, and I hope she’s doing well.
