This place is the bomb!!! I've been there for years. Food is always excellent. Try the home searchers that are not on the menu. The Chinese chicken salad is a meal in itself. The Shen Hua beef is super tasty. There was really no dish on the menu I didn't like. They have a collection of Japanese microbrows that has evolved. They have often given me free food and drinks, just because they are a loyal girl. The servers... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shen Hua:
Don't waste your money. Springs rolls have a weird taste, string beans have a strong taste of pepper and other flavors that aren't very good. Veggie chow mein had no flavor. Shrimp fried rice was the only thing that was decent. We took our order to go and they didn't offer utensils, plates or soy sauce. We had to walk back and ask for some. View all feedback.
This is the best Chinese restaurant in Berkeley. The food is to die for. You must try the Manchurian beef! Yummy. The restaurant has a full bar and a fun bartender who will make an excellent lemon drop. Great atmosphere and service. Five stars.

I love sitting at the bar and watching a game. It's cool my kid sits at the bar with me. What more can I say differently than that is my favorite Chinese restaurant in East Bay.
It is super hard to find good gluten-free Chinese cuisine, but Shen Hua has its own naturally gluten-free soy sauce! The staff is very good about Gf requests can make most dishes gluten-free! I had a few days to make sure I feel good. Thank you, this is a big deal for people with celiac disease. I would add that it can be helpful to mention what you can make gf on a menu somewhere.
I spent 4 years of my life in Berkeley and today I accidentally felt the need to review one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and to go my top Chinese restaurant in the bay. The foods and drinks are great, and every time I eat here, I felt like home. Not to mention one of the most authentic people I met in the city. All right here.
Excellent food and service. The Dim Sum was good but the wonton soup, green beans, and Kung Pao Chicken were excellent. Was so hungry did not get pictures this time but will in the future!!
