Pyro 's is currently in pop-up/startup mode. You can 't just wake up in the morning and say Hey, I feel like getting some pastrami. I 'll motivate on down to Pyro 's. Opportunities to purchase flash by as Instagram stories and then evaporate as your competition orders before you do. Sad! The reality is that you 're far from alone if you 're interested in Pyro 's. Pyro 's currently operates like air traffic controllers on a busy travel day when there 's weather and runway construction: flow control is the name of the game. The good news is that you 'll be able to order if you 're persistent. And once Cash and Anahita have accepted you as a customer, they 'll treat you like family. In my case, I ordered a large quantity of pastrami and two sides for pickup on the day before Thanksgiving. The Pyros couldn 't have been nicer in making sure that everything would go smoothly with my order, the pickup and the necessary reheating. Sweet! As for the product: well, it 's clearly great. Pyro 's pastrami is certainly among the best that I 've ever tasted. It would be fun to have a blind tasting of pastrami from Saul 's and from Pyro 's, with some Montreal smoked meat from Augie 's thrown in for comparison. That tasting will have to be postponed, principally because Augie 's is closed for the time being and my belly is quite full. Our sides were a pack of buns for the pastrami and a large container of mac 'n ' cheese. The buns were perfect for the occasion, but weren 't really the star of the show. The mac was excellent, though my co-conspirator Allen said that it was a bit too cheesy or creamy for his personal taste. We can all look forward to the day when Anahita and Cash open a proper deli and have figured out how to grow their operation without sacrificing the quality of their pastrami.
My first visit. Counter service. Original pastrami sandwich was tasty. House made potato chips needed salt. I'll be back to try other sandwiches.
This place hands down is the best place to get a sandwich in California!!! The Food is excellent and the service is our of this world...I was greeted with the warmest smiles and loving demeanor unmatched anywhere else !! I was working in the area and decided to stop by for a quick sandwich. The flavors of the beef brisket combined with that mustard they use are amazing! This little spot is a true gem in the Bay Area! I know that whatever I eat over the next couple of weeks won't compare to this until I come back.
In 2016, I dedicated myself to trying every pastrami sandwich in San Francisco, and I have to say, AK Subs has finally been outdone. The title for the best pastrami in the Bay now goes to Pyro's. I ordered one OG Sando and one Reuben, indulging in both on the same day—a truly memorable experience of self-care. I’m eagerly awaiting their permanent location; it's going to be a sacred spot for pastrami lovers!
