I like this pasta place pretty good. The part is full and you can honestly take it home for a round two, the lasagna I had was also quite delicious and delicious. The Penne Bolognese my gf also had quite good. Overall, if you are looking for a first date spot / small group Pasta Hangout spot, this place is the way to go. Staff are nice, good atmosphere and mood, and a simple menu for my undecided friends haha. Rating... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pasta Bene:
The Fatuccine Alfredo gave me food poisoning. I strongly advise people to avoid this place. Food that doesn't taste good is one thing (that really cost good), but this food could make you really sick. If someone from Pasta Bene reads this, you need to take your food safety more seriously. If you need to modify your order, don't come here. I am allergic to black pepper, and ordered the salmon plain with no seasoning. It came out covered in black pepper. I sent it back and they scraped the crust off and gave it back to me. I am insulted.
I really enjoyed this place! A friend and I wanted to grab dinner on a Sunday evening and we were really craving pasta. I looked this place up on Yelp and it had pretty good reviews so we thought to give it a try. On first glance I realized this wasn't your average usual restaurant where you're order is being taken by someone coming up to your table. You actually have to get up from your seat and place your order that way. But they of course then being your food to you. It's a smaller restaurant with maybe no more than 8 or so tables but it's quaint. You grab your own water and can also order beers or wines to be brought to your table. The Gamberetto usually comes with mushrooms but I asked to remove them since they aren't my favorite. The pasta was pretty good though it needed a bit more salt for my personal taste. The garlic bread was ok. I felt the bread was pretty dense and heavy for me so it came off as a little dry if I hadn't dipped it in the marinara sauce. Overall a pretty solid place that I think I'd give another try!
I am here twice, once for chicken parm (about 15 dollars and recently I went for cheese ravioli. I concluded that the food was really delicious. The portions are not massive for the price, but for Berkeley it is reasonable. The food here is so delicious? I think I'm lactose intolerant, but I'm still eating here because it's so dangy? There is also a Happy Hour Special for four types of pasta. You can find the information on your website. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this information will be reflected on your snack pass menu. If this is the case, please update it! I want to order in advance.
Huge portions, super delicious, and helpful regarding dietary restrictions. Pictured gnocchi is what I had left AFTER eating my fill. Needless to say I had a lovely breakfast the next day :
Great food, good prices, even better view of Telegraph Ave.
