The roll... read more This is seriously the affordable and fast sushi place I've been waiting for since my college days (which was longer ago than I care to admit publicly). The rolls are tightly packed with goodies. They don't try to sneakily give you too much rice to compensate for a lack of fish. Much appreciated. The prices are so good for the quality that I almost feel guilty every time I come here, like I'm getting away with something. The menu is small, but great. Every single thing I've tried has been a hit. The staff are so incredibly friendly! Let's get real with the options here in Downtown Berkeley. Sushi Ko closing down was no great loss. Neither am I wanting to drop all the time I want sushi. (Kirala, I'm looking at you). Sushi California is legit, but doesn't quite fill the same niche of casual sushi. What you get in tastiness and quality here will certainly make up for the slightly less food you get compared to CU Sushi on Center. If you're looking for your Toro or Ankimo, this is not the place for you. If you want a casual, no frills place that beautifully hits the spot without hitting your wallet too hard, Momo Island is your kind of place. P.S. Their mini cream puffs are amazing. My only regret is I often hit up MoMo Island late enough that they've sold out.
