Was Cierra Schumm at Maison Bleue Berkeley a mag?
very nice caffe and beautiful place to eat. smaller than expected and a table to reserve means to take one of the only tables in the restaurant. that said eating was excellent and the staff was very friendly and easy to go. I'm going back to the finals. View all feedback.
What Cierra Schumm dislikes about Maison Bleue Berkeley:
it was okay. would I come back? probably not, given the many possibilities in the opposite. the coffee was good, the sandwich was not so much. it was not bad, but a sandwich for $15 made with the heel of a broth, not great. usually community tables in which is good when sharing with nice people. it is the luck of the draw. probably more beautiful if the outside tables can be used with warm weather. My 11-year-old daughter and I came to this restaurant because she was craving a crepe. We were not disappointed as the crepe we ordered was incredibly delicious. She devoured the entire thing and raved about it for the rest of the day. I tried the Pain Perdu and it was also very tasty. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was clean, and they offered free Wifi.
Yum. Good buckwheat galettes and a very nice patio to enjoy the nice weather. The staff were kind and helpful. I will return!
I ordered the herbivore omelet with spinach and cherry tomatoes for $11, and it was cooked well, just like a French omelet should be. A bit more seasoning and toast on the side would have made it even better, and the eggs could have been more flavorful, but overall it was still very good. The RoastCo coffee for only $2.25 was delicious and served in large Heath Ceramic cups. The chocolate croissant was a bit lacking in chocolate, but understandable since it was a half-price day-old pastry for $1.50. I also tried a small mini-muffin with canned apple for $2, and a happy hour beer Boont amber ale in a can for $4. I spent the whole day there and even went back for their breakfast sandwich on big aceme bread, and their pain aux raisins was one of the best I've had, up there with Bouchon! I also give them 4 out of 5 Green Stars for their social and ecological efforts, such as using minimal waste by serving everything in ceramic or metal, offering compostable To-Go cups and lids, and sourcing from designated suppliers like organic bread from Acme and bacon from Niman Ranch. The coffee is from RoastCo in Oakland, which sources shade-grown organic coffee from cooperatives. I do have some suggestions for improvement though. It would be great if the eggs were pasture-raised for more flavor since they are a large part of the menu. It would also be nice to see beer served on tap instead of in cans. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible with a gate at the seating area and close to public transportation.
Visited here a while back. Fantastic brunch spot. They've got really good Crepēs! Great outdoor study spot for students too
This is a fantastic spot to meet up with friends for coffee or a bite to eat. It's conveniently located just a block away from BHS and the library, at the corner of a complex building with a back door that connects to a garage. The cafe has a modern look with a hint of French flair in its menu offerings. With an eight-person counter and a few scattered tables with wood accents, it's a cozy spot to enjoy sweet and savory crepes, beer, wine, and coffee from Roast Co in Oakland. Fresh pastries, though limited in availability, are baked on-site. Free Wi-Fi and a shared restroom are also available. Bon appetit!

There are savory and sweet crepe options. Enjoyed the vegetarian filling with a buckwheat crepe. There was indoor and outdoor seating available. There was an extensive list of beverages. Our choice was a delicious rose. Parking garage is adjacent with a tunnel to the restaurant. Metered street parking is also available. Our server was friendly and helpful.
This is a very informal place with a few tables inside and several outside. It’s counter service with the staff bringing your meal. For such a small place, our order took longer than expected. My wife had a buckwheat crepe which she said was good, although the chicken filling was not very flavorful. I had the Croque Monsieur which was good. Nothing fancy. I would probably go back if I’m in the area and have a desert crepe. Would not go there for dinner again lunch maybe or desert yes.
I like this cute little place a lot. However, this experience was disappointing. We arrived with a reservation. Waited quite some time just to get drink orders taken. No ice, so had to change order. Again, another 5 mintues or so of waiting. 45 minutes in, we were still waiting for our entree. Meanwhile, the couple next to us, who had arrived almost 10 minutes later, were almost done eating.
We discovered this place because our theater tickets entitled us to a free lemon-sugar crepe, but the buckwheat gallettes we had were really delicious. Good French beer, too. Service was really friendly, and the atmosphere was casual. Will definitely coem back for a quick pre-theater dinner again. It's not really obvious from the street, so they might not get enough walk-by business, but look for it and you won't regret it.

The food was extraordinary the staff was super friendly but two of our entrees simply got lost in the shuffle. There was very little how is everything? follow up with the waitstaff. It only really materialized after we walked to the counter and asked why everyone else in our party had finished their meals where were the other two. The food was excellent but there seemed to be a lot of friendly chatter going on in the kitchen rather than making sure entrees came out on time and were hot when they were delivered. (particularly since once of the entrees was a warmed slice of premade bread pudding) Our waiter was very friendly and a great compliment to our food once they 'd actually made contact with us. Great food but ya 'll need to work on your execution a little bit for you to get top stars.
Cozy restaurant serving yummy crepes, I would love to go back in the spring and sit on the large patio!
Very nice café and nice place to eat. Less than expected and keeping a table means taking one of the only tables in the restaurant. That said the food was excellent and the staff was very friendly and easy to go. I definitely go back.
Very creative menu. We had breakfast crepe with buckwheat pancakes. Service was slow. Didn't seem to have enough help. Had reservations, but had to wait in line while those without reaervations placed order. Had to find own table. Service should improve with additional help. Food is great now.
